“ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Bilbao Love Affair Started Here – Pintxos, Vermouth & Pure Joy! We discovered Bilbao Berria Ledesma by chance while wandering through Bilbao with two foodie friends. From the street, it glowed with warmth and sophistication – the kind of place that makes you stop in your tracks. Through the window, I saw the amber lights and the bustle of happy diners, and turned to my friends. “Shall we go in?” That was the start of my love affair with this spot. We sat at the bar near a huge glass keg of house-made vermouth, which instantly caught our attention. The bartender welcomed us warmly and, with theatrical precision, sliced a paper-thin circular twist of orange peel before dropping it into our glass. The vermouth was a revelation – subtle, smooth, and wonderfully quaffable. The food was just as impressive: Croqueta de Jamón (€3.20), creamy and crisp, Pork Belly (€4.90), melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We loved it so much we came back later that evening for more – Mini Burger (€4.95), Taco Ternera (€5.50), Huevo Foie (€5.50) – each dish bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality, and the elegant, hidden dining room at the back is a welcome bonus. This is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Bilbao – warm, lively, affordable, and unforgettable. I’ll be coming back again (and again). ”
